Tribute to a Legend: Remembering Tony Todd

Well, guys, I am sadly here with one of those very, very sad videos. Many of us were fans of the incredible actor in question. We are, of course, talking about Tony Todd—the legendary Tony Todd, known for his unforgettable roles from Candyman to The Crow. More recently, he voiced Venom in the latest Insomniac game, which endeared him to a whole new generation.

This news has just hit us today, and it’s hard to process. Many will also remember Tony Todd from his work on other notable projects. In The Flash, he brought terrifying life to the character of Zoom, and in Masters of the Universe: Revelation, he took on the role of Scareglow with his trademark depth and intensity. It’s not easy to find words to express the legacy he leaves behind. He lent his iconic voice to so many productions—from Justice League Dark: Apokolips War to Final Destination and The Man From Earth. For fans like me, the mere sound of his voice could capture my interest in any project he took on.

Sadly, Tony Todd passed away on November 6th at the age of 69. The Wrap was one of the first to report the news, and it’s hard to accept. Tony Todd was a legend and a horror icon in every sense, and his work will continue to inspire. Rest in peace, Tony Todd—a true legend.
